The FO Burger

This recipe was submitted today to the Duluth News Tribune Under 6 Ingredients Orginal Recipe Contest. Thought I'd better place it here as well.

It's definately time to get back to doing this silly stuff that connects us.

One of the things I have always loved about this family is our joy at preparing and eating good food. Though it has a tendency to show itself in a few extra inches on some of our waists, it also shows itself in the warm feelings I have for wonderful memories of time spent together. Though we have had our ups and downs we have also had loads of fun together. I am appreciative to all of you for your part in our good times, whether that is by preparing good food, setting the table or providing lively conversation.

I look forward to many meals ahead with all you.......Love mom

The name of this recipe comes from the names of its creators, Frank Jewell & Olivier Brun. These two are known within our family for their “gosh, what’s in the refrigerator” ideas. Though many are “memorable”, this one is definitely a keeper and has become a favorite with family and friends.

2# of ground lean beef
1# of ground Italian sausage
½ cup of finely diced onion
½ cup of finely diced red pepper
1TB of soy sauce
¼ teas freshly ground black pepper( more or less to your personal preference)

Mix ingredients together and form into burgers. Grill over charcoal or wood.
Though you can serve on buns, we often eat them without so we can enjoy the flavor.

It’s very important to finely chop (but don’t use a food processor) the peppers & onions. If you want extra heat add ¼ teas of finely chopped hot pepper
